100nl... and playing poorly.

One thing I have discovered through my poker playing, is that being results oriented is almost always a mistake. Today's early session was a pretty good example, though i finished +220, I played poorly, and am upset I didn't win more.

That being said the FTP 100nl tables were lolsoft, but I had a few interesting hands that I'd like input on.

No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (9 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

SB ($192.95)
Hero (BB) ($119.45)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J, J
7 folds, SB bets $2.50, Hero calls $2

Flop: ($6) 10, 3, 9 (2 players)
SB bets $6, Hero calls $6

Turn: ($18) Q (2 players)
SB bets $11, HERO ?
Total pot: $18

Hud has him at 16/9 14%stl, so no real reads yet.

I would like commentary on all streets, on what anyone thinks is optimal.

Same with this hand... I thought about checking the flop MP2 was a 33/11, and mealowns, mj, and tiranook are pretty std.

No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (9 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

MP3 ($556.90)
SB ($122.90)
Hero (UTG) ($100)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q, A
Hero bets $4, UTG+1 calls $4, 2 folds, MP3 calls $4, CO calls $4, 1 fold, SB calls $3.50, 1 fold

Flop: ($21) A, J, 2 (5 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $14, 1 fold, MP3 calls $14, 1 fold, SB raises $49, HERO ?

Total pot: $63

Just wondering what people think is optimal here? through the whole hand.

annnnnd one more.

  1. Hand 1... why wouldn't you 3-bet pre? Even if you don't 3-bet pre I think you definitely want to raise flop. I realize he's snug, but it's BVB, people do spazzy stuff and we have a good hand. As played, I guess give his turn barrel credit and fold, esp. without the Jh

Hand 2... I'm folding AQo pre from UTG (and I'm really not a huge nit, spots like this just suck). Definitely fold for the flop raise. Since you're UTG his flop raise says he has AK tied or beat. We're ahead of only AdXd, and not by much... everything else in his range has us destroyed.

Hand 3... His turn bet might have been a bet/give up on the scariest card in the deck. Either way river is an easy check-back. We don't wanna get crai'ed by the royal, haha. Nothing worse (except maaaaybe AJ) calls a bet, but with this board you'll see a straight or a flush too often to want to bet river for value.

  2. #1: I would probably 3bet pre here, too. But I see the point to flat to keep his range wide. But this flop is def a raise. You are propably best here on the flop but there are too many cards you do not want to see like overcards and flush and/or straight cards.

#2: I think opening AQo is pretty standard but this depends a lot of the table dynamics I guess. I think checking the flop vs 3 vilians is maybe not that bad. As played this is def a fold IMO. Not that much (if any) you beat here vs a c/r.

#3: Pre is absolut standard and I like your cbet size even I think betting a little more is although okay since the board is pretty wet. His turn donk bet is just bad but calling here is standard. The river is a insta check behind. You do not fill up and the board is just bad to bet here for value.

  3. thanks guys for the comments.

in hand #1, because the player didn't have obvious steal stats, I thought flatting would be best as I don't think I can play JJ as the nuts against a guy who is positionally inept.

#2, I thought this spot was interesting because it is so difficult for anyone to have a better hand than me on that board. I am not afraid at all of the first flat, but when the reg raises is it always 22, AJs ? That seems like such a narrow range, and if there are ANY draws in there its a shoveback.

#3, Now that I look at it, it seems pretty standard. Though him donking the flush and checking the river is extremely strange, and I kinda think there might be some value in betting like... $18-21.
